What is HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS?

A:

HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS is a nonprofit corporation created with the desire to reach out to Christian families in the Greene County area of East Tennessee who educate their children at home. HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS operates an academic co-op in Greeneville on Mondays.  HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS also offers the opportunity for fellowship, friendships, field trips, activities with area homeschoolers, and athletic opportunities.

What benefits are included in a HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS membership?

A:

As a member of HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS you are invited to participate in every activity, subject to age/grade guidelines.  This would include field trips, activities, scholastic competitions, athletics, moms' day out, conferences, and the formal.  In addition, you have full access to the HERITAGE website.  You will receive emails on upcoming events, homeschool helps, as well as general information on local events. Co-op classes that meet on Mondays are an additional option, but due to limited facility size is not guaranteed for all members.

How do I join HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS? 

A:

The first step to become a HERITAGE member is by submitting your new membership consideration request form located under the "Request Membership" tab.

The consideration period for adding new members is open from May 1st to August 1st annually and then again from December 1st through the 31st.

Requests for membership consideration will be closed at all other times of the year. Completion of the membership consideration form does not guarantee membership approval into HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS. 

Please make sure to read the "About Us" section of the website to learn more about our Christian beliefs and values expressed in our constitution and by-laws. HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS requires that you answer all questions on the membership request form and click the "Submit" button at the bottom. Once submitted, a member of the HERITAGE Board of Directors will reach out to you to set up an interview time to discuss your potential membership and to see if HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS is a good fit for you, your students, and family. You will additionally be required to submit a character reference.

If I  am not able to participate in co-op classes, may I still be a member of HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS? 

A:

Absolutely!  You may choose which aspects of all that HERITAGE HOME SCHOLARS offers that you wish to participate in!

Does HERITAGE have a Facebook page?

A:

We do not have a Facebook page, but we do have a closed Facebook group.  Go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/115543438545258/ to request membership in the Facebook group.
